Day hiking the Appalachian Trail to prepare myself for the long thru hike of the AT coming this spring. On this day hike I was with a good friend of mine, though he won’t be coming with me on my Thru hike it was pretty cool to hike a section of the Appalachian trail for the day with a friend. This day hike was a good test for some of my equipment, I did not get into my sleep system on this trip but it did rain a good portion of this trip. Since it rained I was able to see how some gear handled the rain. This trip made me realize I needed better gloves that are water proof or at least water resistant. It also taught me I should think about adding some rain pants to my gear list. I am not a huge fan of rain jackets or rain pants but the rain jacket did it’s job on this trip while the bottom half of me was pretty wet. It didn’t take long to dry off as my compression pants and shorts are of the material that quickly dries out. Over all this trip was pretty cool and loved it. As always make sure to Live Life, Make Memories, & Be Crazy. Comments are closed.
